I’m Asith Debnath (Green), a wildlife videographer, photographer, and environmental storyteller who documents the beauty of nature and the quiet threats shaping its future. My journey started with simply watching the small birds around my village. Over time, that childhood habit became a deep commitment to study wildlife, understand their struggles, and communicate their stories in a way that inspires real care for the natural world.

Although I film many species, my most dedicated work revolves around the Baya Weaver. Their craftsmanship, intelligence, and sensitivity to environmental change gradually shaped my path. For several years, I’ve been closely observing their nesting behaviour, shifting habitats, and the pressures they face. My field documentation includes:

  • Changing nesting sites caused by urban expansion and loss of grasslands

  • How rainfall patterns and climate shifts influence nest building

  • Differences in nest structure across various ecological conditions

  • Threats from pesticides, pollution, invasive plants, and habitat fragmentation

  • Behavioural changes within colonies during breeding seasons

Most of this work comes from long days in the field—from the first light of morning to late afternoon. During these hours, I’ve captured thousands of videos and photographs, creating a growing archive that preserves their behaviour, challenges, and resilience. This archive isn’t only for storytelling; it also supports researchers, NGOs, and environmental educators who rely on accessible visuals to communicate scientific insights.

Beyond fieldwork, I collaborate with NGOs and community organisations to design awareness materials, infographics, and conservation campaigns. These projects help simplify complex environmental issues—making them easier for the public to understand and engage with. This blend of visuals, design, and ecological observation is at the heart of my work.

Over the past few years, my short-form nature films and conservation-focused content have reached 350M+ people, building a community of more than 1 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube under Go Green ForLife and AMG. This audience motivates me to keep documenting, learning, and sharing.

My long-term goal is to continue using storytelling, research, and community engagement to contribute to conservation media. I want to work alongside scientists, filmmakers, and conservation leaders to highlight species that are often overlooked—and to help people reconnect with the ecosystems that sustain them.
